Attorney Flaherty received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tufts University in 1968 and was in the top 10% of his graduating class at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Attorney Flaherty was also selected to serve as a law clerk to the Appellate Session of the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut and has previously served as a member of the United States Navy.
Attorney Flaherty is a member of the American, Connecticut and Hartford Bar Associations, as well as the American and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as a special master at the Regional Family Trial Docket as well as the Rockville and Hartford Superior Court-Family Matters. In addition, Attorney Flaherty has lectured on various family law topics.
Prior to law school, Attorney Flaherty served a six-year term with the United States Navy, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. Attorney Flaherty also served a tour of duty in Vietnam and subsequently served as Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Legislative Affairs for the Navy in Washington, D.C.
He resides with his wife in Canton, where they raised their four boys. An active member of the Canton community, he has coached both youth soccer and little league.
